DESCRIPTION:Hello! Please join us in celebrating the 60th birthday of John Miller\, co-founder of St. Louis Area Pinball\, on Sunday\, March 8\, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Murphy’s on 21. Doors open at 1:00 p.m. Of course\, in addition to the celebration\, there will be a sanctioned tournament in honor of IFPA #35 AKA as J.R. \nFormat will be ten rounds of Group Match Play qualifying (7\, 5\, 3\, 1 scoring in a four-player group and 7\, 4\, 1 scoring in a three-player group.) Pairings will be balanced. Depending upon turnout\, we hope to take at least the top eight to finals. Cost to enter the tournament is $10\, plus the typical $.75 per game/round for coin drop. \nAll entry fees will go back to the players in the form of cash prizes (minus the $1 IFPA fee for sanctioning the event.) There will also be attendance prizes given away! \nALL SKILL LEVELS ARE WELCOME TO JOIN. Minors are eligible to play in this sanctioned event\, but they must be accompanied by an adult. If you just feel like coming to hang out\, that’s fine too! \nThere will be snacks\, frozen pizza\, and John’s famous jerky available for sale at the bar. Other birthday snacks will also be provided. You are also welcome to bring in your own snacks/food or order delivery. \nNo pre-registration is required. Walk-ins will be allowed\, however walk-ins are not guaranteed a spot if we reach the player cap. Registration is allowed beginning on Saturday January 10th beginning at 11am CST \n-Format- \nSaturday Qualifying: Target Matchplay with (5\,3\,2\,1) Scoring. Once a player reaches 49 pts they earn a spot in finals on Sunday and do not continue playing in qualifying rounds. Rounds continue until all final spots are filled. Once all finals spots are filled\, anyone who didn’t reach the 49 pts target will be eliminated and their current standing will be their finishing position. The amount of players making finals will be based on total turnout and be announced before tournament start (likely between 16 and 32). \nSunday Finals: Euro Elimination Matchplay Bracket : Groups of Four\, 2 Advance from each group (Finish first in 2 games = advance \, finish last in 2 games = out.
